Pant was the top-scoring Indian batsman in the recent series, amassing 261 runs across six innings with a strong average of 43.50, which included three crucial half-centuries. Prior to this series, Pant had shown excellent form in the Bangladesh Tests, accumulating 161 runs across two matches.
At 27, Pant is approaching his career-high rating of 801, currently standing at 750 points. Shubman Gill also saw a rankings boost after scoring 90 in the first innings of the Mumbai Test, moving up four spots to No. 16 in the Test batting rankings.
